Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Hagerstown, MD
Reports to: Regional Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $23- $25 Per hour
The Warehouse Supervisor supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating order fulfillment, receiving, inventory, cleanliness, and documentation activities. This role supervises everything in the warehouse and also the warehouse associates. The goal is to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate warehouse operations that meet both company and client expectations.
Essential Functions
- Loads delivery vehicles for the purpose of ensuring that all items and supplies are properly secured.
- Prepares orders by pulling from stock for the purpose of meeting delivery requirements.
- Receives stock and non-stock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct and/or inspecting items for damage.
- Stocks equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining required inventory levels.
- Conducts physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.
- Maintains various files and records (e.g. temperature logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, and providing materials and reliable resource information.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying warehouse needs, product specifications and price
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
- Processes a variety of documents and/or materials (e.g. warehouse supplies, mail, food items, packages, bank deposits, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information and/or materials to appropriate parties and/or ensuring the proper storage of materials and supplies.
- Maintains and cleans warehouse facilities as assigned for the purpose of keeping them in orderly, clean and safe condition
- Assists other staff members as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or guide up to 50 pounds individually ability to work well with co-workers and customers and ability to work under pressure. Willing to take orders from supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- 2+ years of warehouse or logistics experience; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Job related experience is desired.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- forklift certification preferred.
- Detail Oriented – Attention to details and accuracy.
- Computer Aptitude -Proficient use Microsoft Word & Excel and Internet navigation.
- Communication skills, both verbally and written. Interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency.
- Customer Service – Respond promptly to requests for service and assistance as needed. Follow up as needed.
- Planning / Organization - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines and shift priorities as necessary. Uses time effectively.
- Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions.
- Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. Makes timely decisions.
- Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner. Reacts well under pressure. Follows through on commitments. Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.
- Familiarity with Inventory Management and Customer Database is necessary.
