Position Summary
The Food Safety & Warehouse Associate coordinates and participates in the receipt, storage, loading and unloading, delivery, and inventory of materials, food items, supplies, and equipment; ensuring specifications, quantity and the quality of orders are correct. The Food Safety Associate & warehouse associate ensures that all food safety, sanitation, and quality protocols are followed throughout the warehouse. This role supports compliance with SQF, FDA, and other regulatory standards by conducting inspections, maintaining records, and promoting a clean and safe environment for food storage and distribution. This job reports to the Food Safety Administrator & the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Functions (Food Safety)
- Lead the day-to-day Food Safety requirements to maintain SQF Certification.
- Work mostly in the warehouse area, monitoring that food safety procedures are being followed
- Ensure proper documentation and records are completed by the responsible parties.
- Problem solving as relates to food and safety issues.
- Assist with enforcing food safety program and procedures, GDP policy and personal hygiene policies.
- Perform and record daily/weekly and monthly inspections and report any irregularities and take proper corrective action.
- Responsible for quality and safety checks for incoming goods.
- Maintains files and records (e.g. temperature and maintenance logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, and providing materials and reliable resource information for inspections
- Report and assist with correcting any non-compliance conditions in food storage/receiving/shipping area.
- Report and record any required maintenance of warehouse tools and equipment.
- Responsible for preparation of any and all food safety audits.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food premises.
- Leads the day-today food safety processes to drive cultural/behavior changes company wide
- Develops, administers and ensures compliance with industry and government regulations, such as FSMA, GFSI, HACCP and PCQI
- Calibration of the equipment to adhere to the food safety standard.
- Report to the Food Safety Administrator any non-conformance that is happening in the warehouse.
- Stay updated with latest law changes to ensure compliance.
- Loads delivery vehicles, ensures that all items and supplies are properly secured.
- Receives stock, verifies item specifications, quantity and quality for each order.
- Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
- Stocks items on a First in First Out basis, rotates items as needed
- Conducts physical inventories, verifying expiration dates and identifying losses.
- Maintains and cleans warehouse facility, trucks and equipment as assigned for the purpose of keeping them in orderly, clean and safe condition.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Be knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI), Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals throughout the organization;
- Proficiency in using a variety of computer applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook
- Must be hands-on and process oriented, always looking to improve processes
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, as well as auditing work, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish (Bilingual)
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or guide up to 50 pounds individually, ability to work well with co-workers and customers and ability to work under pressure. Willing to take orders from the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience may be required or preferred.
